Started in 1981, the Gilda Radner Familial Ovarian Cancer Registry collects detailed family history information from individuals who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, are from families with apparent two or more cases of ovarian cancer, or are from families with a syndrome possibly related to ovarian cancer.
The Registry is the only research resource in the United States that has continuously recorded and tracked familial ovarian cancer lineage and has established itself as a valuable resource for a variety of research endeavors associated with cancer genetics.
Any woman over the age of 18 whose family has two or more diagnosed cases of ovarian cancer is eligible to join. There is no cost to become a member of the GRFOCR. Click here to fill out our form & Join the Registry today!
Our goal through research is to identify new genes associated with familial ovarian cancer, thereby improving genetic and psychosocial counseling to characterize lifestyle choices that reduce ovarian cancer risk in women who may be more susceptible to the disease. Acquiring information that will lead to better methods for detecting ovarian cancer, for reliable testing for cancer predisposition & ultimately, preventing the disease in future generations.

Our staff here at the Registry would like to thank everyone who has volunteered, donated, and worked hard to spread the word about not only the Registry but about Ovarian Cancer. We are continuing to work day in and day out with Research in hopes of not only developing a prescreening tool for Ovarian Cancer but ultimately finding a cure. We would like to share stories from patients and members of our Registry here in this blog. If you are a member of the Registry & would like to share any stories or thoughts in our blog please contact Samantha at Samantha.Poblete@ Roswellpark.org!
